How To Make Homemade Ginger Tea From Fresh Ginger
Who loves tea? Ice tea or hot this is a fabulous recipe to share. One of my all-time favourite mixes. Keeps super well in the fridge.
***
𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦
250 ml Lemon juice
2L Water
150g ginger, smashed
200ml honey natural flavour (more if it's not sweet enough)
𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗗
Add all to a pot.
Bring to a boil.
Boil for 30-40 minutes
Let sit.
Strain and serve.
You can store this in the fridge and use it as an iced tea.

Hi Chef, I made this with my wife and we loved it. Do you recommend anything for the leftover Ginger? Can you use it for anything else afterwards or even make another batch at some point with it again? Just wondering.

I've been making this ginger tea for many years. It's the best and very great for inflammation. I like it with a lot of honey. I use all organic as well. Raw, unrefined honey and organic ginger. I also peel and chop my ginger in 1/2 inch slices. You can use it with the skin, it does have nutrients, just make sure you scrub well. The ginger will soak up some of the sweetness from the honey and I usually just eat it, just like that. Some? Can't tolerate the flavor. I LOVE it. And you CAN use it for stir fry, puree it for smoothies, etc. I NEVER throw it away. Take care.

Hi, if you pull your ginger from the freezer, do you let it thaw to smash it, or just put it in whole from the frozen?

Best to give it a smash... it depends on how hard it is coming out of the freezer.... might be best to let it defrost.

RE: washing the cups with boiling hot tea in China is done because you can't trust the restaurants to serve you with sterilized dishes. Sometimes the cups are packed in plastic to show they are sterile. Trust me. Been there; done that.
