Even though Chelsea won, you have to appreciate the Southampton's goalkeeper. He made 13 saves with 7 or 8 from inside the box and saved 1 penalty. Outstanding performance.

@@lionel.messi10 I agree with you. Saul hardly got on the ball to control play. Always chose the easy option playing a side pass or heading the ball towards a team mate. He has fantastic technique based on what I saw at ATM. He will gain confidence eventually but for now he is yet to acclimatize to the physicality of the English game. If Chelsea fans won't be honest about Saul's performance, they are better off supporting Arsenal.

@@sn_adams he's still far from being used to the physicality and the speed of the english game, but we (Chelsea fans in particular) should also acknowledge his small improvements. His distribution is getting better and he did got some fantastic chances to score. He didnt always do a side pass in this game. He actually played some decent balls forward and linked up tidily with Alonso on the left side. All that being said, he's still behind everyone in the midfield pecking order.

I'm happy that Saul was very good. He is one of my favourite players and I was so happy that he signed for us. I hope this game gives him more confidence because he is a player that we really need. A midfielder that can shoot from outside the box

Saul was horrible. his positioning was off, he wasn't supporting any attacks and kova had to run to support every single time. Saul gets panicked very quickly and loses the ball. Barkley was so better than him, I don't see a reason why should he be given chance ahead

Mid week cup game with the “second team”, happy we won, but this was not a Chelsea worthy performance. Saul showed some positive signs, Chalobah looked decent, Kepa saved us, but a lot looked off. Ziyech, Sarr, Kova especially for me. Mount needs to work on his penalties too, others were great. We’re Champions of Europe, let’s show that this weekend.

Goes to quarter final Carabao Cup 2021, Chelsea has beaten Southampton on the penalty kick shootout after play with a score 1-1 in the normal time and extra time, Kai Havertz make a goal with a header. For Tuchel this the second time Chelsea won from penalty kick in a Carabao Cup Competition, but before Chelsea won against Aston Villa from penalty kick. Next match on Premiere League Chelsea against Newcastle United, i hope the Blues more consistence and focus when play in St. James Park, cause the Magpies they've needed three point to.
