Not only Chilwell but Reece James was injured too for about three months.....kavertz was injured for about a month and in between kovacic and kante also suffered injuries .....then sanctions by the UK government made it a really tough season for Chelsea. Also other players didn't step up when needed. Lukaku and Pulisic failed drastically to show their potential . Overall a season to forget

A lot went wrong including injury to James. We never replaced James. Don’t ever forget how Alonso filled up the role of Chilwell and did extremely well. That final Madrid goal came from our right. Alonso stepped up whenever he was asked to i.e entire season

I was so hyped the first game of the season. Chalobah goal, one of the first times we scored 3 with Tuchel, great attacking and defensive performance, clean sheet. I thought for sure we’d challenge the title

Last season he was brilliant and one of the key players for the success, but this season he's been the opposite. He cost the team many precious points with some silly goals, often undoing the good work of his teammates. And in the champions league against Real Madrid, well..he was almost single-handedly responsible for the team's elimination. Tbh, even Kepa could've done a better job. In short, he's become lazy, arrogant and complacent. He needs to go or tough competition brought in for next season.

How can people say Chelsea have underperformed, but say Liverpool have had an incredible season. The two cups Liverpool have won were right down to the wire and penalties can go either way. Also, keep in mind Chelsea have won 2 cups already - so on two different days, Chelsea would be walking away from this season with 4 trophies and Liverpool none (bar CL). Yes, in some games we have given away points but we have only lost 6 games this season and under the circumstances (Lukaku interview, Sanctions, injury crisis'), I think we have done quite well. Liverpool lost only 2 games all season; Chelsea lost 6. Chelsea was top of the league as of November but tailed off thereafter. Let’s face it, Chelsea isn’t consistent. The 2nd half of the season was a disaster for Chelsea. That they finished 3rd was as a result of the better performance in the 1st half....had the season stretched a bit longer, Chelsea would’ve finished outside of top 4. Totally agree they underperformed this season. People expected Chelsea to fight for the title this season, remember?
