This was shocking our men will be very disappointed at this result because Chelsea men can't beat us like this they will struggle for even one but we move up Liverpool women ❤❤😊😊❤😮

It's easy to blame our defence but for the most part I think Bonner, Nagano and Fisk were solid. We were still disorganised out of possession and were caught out in transition but, most importantly, we offered close to nothing UP TOP, both with and without the ball. The low block didn't work because the back 5 ended up having to pick up the pieces higher up the pitch and were spread thin. I think it was probably a mistake not to start Kearns; we needed her dynamism, but it was probably an even bigger one to take Hoebinger off; she's great at retaining the ball and kick starting an attack from deep. Something still needs to click with our forwards but until then, fielding 2 of them against Chelsea just meant 1 less number in midfield. End of the day, it's just one game and although ALL of our tough away games are this half of the season, we aren't far off 3rd. Live and learn. YNWA.

Yeah, Haug has been a bit of a disappointment considering shes our record signing. Her heading is good, but thats about it. She offers not much else. I think playing 2 strikers up top in a 4-4-2 diamond with Haug and somebody like Kiernan whos better at dribbling can help her abit.

Feels like in the Premier League when City beat us 5-0 in 2017 and Villa beat us 7-2 in 2020. Anyway, I feel a little better after the weekend after Barcelona beat Real 5-0 in El Clásico on Saturday and City beat United 3-1 in the Manchester Derby on Sunday. Chelsea invested in their women’s team the season after we won our second title. Liverpool only just started to re-invest a two years ago after tearing ours to shreds for the previous six. It’s going to take time for us to get back to the level we once were ten years ago. This season, we have Melwood and the major global sponsors but now we need more world class established players and more quality players coming through the academy like Kearns, Silcock, Parry and Shaw (acl injury). We’ve already seen a massive improvement and we’re just two points off the top 3 behind Man City, with two winnable fixtures coming up in the Super League against Brighton and Bristol City. Matt Beard did say it will take a couple more transfer windows. As for signings Rose Laville and Charlotte Grant are both available on a free transfer. There are so many world class players available for free in the summer that we can also try and sign in January. Ada Hegerberg, Mary Earps, Julia Grosso, Sophia Smith, Mapi Leon, Ellie Roebuck, Kathellen, Teresa Abelleira and Lauren Hemp just to name a few. We play United in the League Cup tonight, let’s go out and turn it around. Cone on Liverpool 💪 YNWA

I wish the women's team was as good as the men's team. People forget that Liverpool Ladies won back to back WSL in 2013 and 2014. The regression is hard to understand but maybe enough investment hasn't gone into this part of the club, which is wrong imo.

It was a lack of funding, investment in the years that followed. Most of the best players left after 2014, and Womens football was even lesser known then, they've just this year, got a world class training ground and facilities. United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, either created their womens teams, and/or started investing more in the years after then, hence the gap at the moment but also unlucky to be relegated during Covid without a full season. It turned out for the better though, the gals worked hard.
