I totally agree 💯. However, and this is maybe due to not seeing him playing but can Enzo fall back effectively like Gallagher when Cucurella has to go back to his left back duties. Apart from that I think he would be effective.

I was thinking Lavia would be the guy to unlock Enzo, but seeing that now, Poch has more tactical flexibility. Be interesting to see what we can do. This guy drives fear in opposition players and it takes two to three players to mark him thus opening space for other players. Cucurella inverting has fixed a multitude of problems structurally in this team, and it’s allowing sustained possession in the opposition half = more touches of purpose for Noni, Palmer, Jackson etc etc, it’s been so much better

Chelsea are back. Poch is really starting to get the team clicking even with 10+ injuries. We're 4th best form in the 2nd half of the season and should end with 5 wins in a row. If we beat Notts, Brighton, and Bournemouth; I'm going full delusional expectations next season.

Cucu inverting seems such a simple and obvious change when looking at our form issues holistically. Our CDM has been surrounded by 2 or 3 opposition players every time they have got the ball, because Enzo and Gallagher always want to receive the ball further forwards, we were giving the ball away in midfield SO much and causing our defence SO many problems getting caught out of position, we have been leaking goals. Bringing an extra player close to the CDM just gives them the short pass option, and also drags opposition players away from him, giving us much more time and space on the ball in that area. We have seen Caicedo driving forwards so much more the last few games and he looks incredible. He finally gets a chance to get his head up and pick passes out. Cucu is also a good option for this because his strong points are his energy and his close control. In addition the energy shown by both Noni and Misha to track back and cover the flanks helps out so much, our defence has looked so much more organised. Probably a good thing to mention, both Levi and Reece (and Trev tbh) would also work really well in that inverted role, they can all handle that position with ease, and they should be learning it to make sure Cucu is not a single point of failure.

Two players I want to point out this season. Jackson, have enjoyed watching him all season, his touch, movement and strength have all been great... finishing... room for improvement but shades of Drogba. Manueke, fearless on the attack but has been lazy on defence, especially when losing the ball. But isn't afraid to take players on or have a shot from the edge of the box. Chelsea the last few seasons are guilty of trying to walk it in.

Something that should be addressed was that Mudryk keeps his width very well. Coufal yesterday was terrified of Misha’s pace so was touch tight which then allowed more space on the other side for Madueke to go 1v1 with Emerson. Mudryk should’ve scored one yesterday too as he had a couple of chances. He’s not getting the G+A we would like but he’s bringing balance to the attack

It could be that, when building a team from scratch, the first step is to build a team atmosphere, bonding, player relationships, a basic understanding of a simple style of play. This step, with the fact that we had so many injuries and were publicly being constantly told we had made the worst mistakes ever in the history of football, took nearly a season. Now that we are starting to show we can play as a team Poch's next step is to start introducing some tactical ideas. This is maybe where we are at. Still slightly fragile as a team, but a team. Still tactically a little immature, but advancing. next season we will have many new players back from injury and a base to build on. Poch has to stay now as it's his work that has built this team and he is their leader. Lets see what happens next season when Poch will actually get a chance to express his ideas on the team.

Hi Joey and Josh, have been watching your clips all Season. I’m very optimistic about the rest of the season and on. Poch has taken some time to get his shit together but he does have pedigree and changing coaches now would be catastrophic!!!! Yes it has been a challenging season but so have the last Three. I don’t think Chelsea has got over the turmoils and fallout from Roman having to sell the club! Think about it, that was a catastrophic event in itself. No other club has had that turmoil…. I loved Tuchel and thought he copped the rough end of the pineapple but we need to allow Poch and this team to grow. I agree i don't want Gallagher to go in fact i really want him to stay. However if its a straight choice between him and Trevoh we keep our best centre back. Otherwise we are going to try spend 50m + on a gamble who doesn't know the club. Him and Colwill the partnership starting next season. Chukwuemeka should be played as much as possible when fit i believe he has a very high ceiling. We still don't know what to expect from Andrey Santos who will come into the squad at some point. The midfield is stacked far more than our defence

Sterling absolutely cannot play in this team while Cucu is inverting, hell even if he isn't inverting. He doesn't track his runners, he doesn't know how to cut passing lanes, he is inept. You can look to the first Arsenal game, Mudryk and Cucu had Saka wrapped up, Mudryk comes off and Sterling comes on and Saka brings them back into the game. He is one of our weakest links.
