The Flamengo fans are very happy because our group is not the worst between the brazilian teams, but i believe people here are happy because they still think of chelsea from M. Pochettino, the Maresca revolution in chelsea haven't got the spotlight from the brazilian media yet, very much so because of liverpool current performance. I'm very confident of chelsea ending up in 1st and Flamengo in 2sd, but is important to clarify that it will be the final of the season for you guys, and just the middle of the season for us. Here's my prediction for the South America clubs. Fluminense can get relegated this week and end up playing the world cup while in the second division, so I think they'll be destroyed. I have high hopes on Flamengo, with Felipe Luiz as the new coach they've been better than ever. Botafogo could also go far on this tournament if they weren't in such a difficult group, but can they still put a good fight. Palmeiras ain't brilliant but they're incredibly consistent on the past years and can compete pretty well. I have a question mark on River, cuz they have potencial to be so much better until the tournament begins, but right now they're very bad. Boca is also in a very bad shape so I don't think they can pass through the group stage against two europeans. The South America clubs are stronger than people think, but the difference to europeans still quite big.

Thanks for this. Seattle only match's on western time zone of the usa. We have 6 time zone's in the usa. In the summer or late spring down south can be over 85 degrees faherheit. Only top 2 teams of each group on move on.

The sooner we go out of this competition the better for us. PL starts only 2-3 weeks after the finals of the WC. Yes I know the winner will get 50m more but I'd rather us have well rested players and compete for PL next season than the 50m. Chelsea should be striving to win every competition in which they participate. Chill with the loser mentality of getting out of the group sooner, that has never been the mentality of CFC that the reason the club has been successful. This format is better than the previous version. Also, it'll held every 4yr which is akin to FIFA World Cup which ends weeks before the season of the domestic season.

The players have only so much power and lack of rest will cause injuries. Look at what happened to City players with all those games or us two seasons ago when we played 63 games.

They same players make themselves available to play in competitions that start at the end of the domestic season. Players' injuries are more about the management of those players than the number of games. How many appearances each of the 25 members of the squad make? Every club has an academy, why not utilise a few of those players and spread the minutes. Instead, managers choose to player the same 14-15 players until they get injured then blame the number of games.

African clubs and countries in WC have in the past two decades been very poor compared to Asian ones.
