Palmer still showed a couple of glimpses of top quality on the ball yesterday and that just shows you that class is permanent. It wasnt Palmers best game yesterday, but Rants is right, he was starved of service and was doubled up on when he got the ball and even when it looked like he was about to receive the ball.

I like don but he’s talking like palmer barely touched the ball and dropped a stinker. He was on the ball quite a lot but liverpool just did a good job closing passing lanes and nullifying options. Most times palmer got the ball he just ended up playing it backwards or sideways - it’s fair play to liverpool in my opinion

Rants is 100% spot on. You do not play Palmer in the middle vs Liverpool's insane pressing midfield trio that are like hound dogs trying to make sure you don't even receive the ball to your feet. He's not physical enough and you want the ball to his feet. You def put him out wide right as an inside forward and have him go at the fullback 1vs1 or force them to double you freeing up someone else. Madueke had the most touches out of all Chelsea's attackers because of being out wide on that right side.

A lot of Chelsea fans are getting confused with the way Klopp played with his rock and roll style football to Slots which is more managed and controlled. Liverpool had Chelsea in their pocket for the majority of the game. It never looked like Liverpool were going to lose the game even when Chelsea scored the leveller. Liverpool had another gear that Chelsea had no answer for. The days of Klopps kamikaze football will be seldom under Slot. Even though the same players are there to do that.

I agree in the big games I want a 433 with Lavia, Caicedo and Enzo as the midfield 3 and Palmer on the wing and a speedster on the LW like a Neto. I agree 100 percent palmer needs more freedom in the big games

In my opinion enzo coached a win. They had Liverpool at home, Liverpool adapted to Chelsea’s game and went long looking to pick up crowd the space left between defence and midfield it’s smart. What enzo could have done is moved madueke inside and palmer outwide to confuse the defenders it would have asked a lot of Robertson and graven. In hindsight it could also create a lot of space for palmer to play as to pass it backwards and sideways and that’s one tactical tweak. He could have also started nkuku especially in the 3241, palmer outside n nkunu inside interchanging with palmer would have caused more danger imo

Don is not realizing this its the way slot set up against us. He saw ouŕ game against forest and he knew he had to be compact, reduce 1 on 1s and not give us space. It's going to be like that against us for most of the season. We should have reacted by defending better
