Well, Milan's old defense line was as good as this, maybe even better... Not only the starting 4 (Tassotti, Costacturta, Baresi, Maldini) were phenomenal. The substitutes were also great: Galli and Panucci deputised in 94 UCL Final and played great football against the Dream Team

I still remember this day. I was in a hurry to come home to watch this match and when I opened the TV it was already 3-0 ! Gudjohnsen, Lampard and Duff on the screen .I was so excited but also with some frustration to have missed the opening goals ! But then I was shocked after having conceded 2 goals before HT. And we spent most of the 2nd half in frustration only to be saved by our captain to send us to the QF.

Barca may have got back into this tie and ultimately robbed with the controversial Terry deciding goal but they had no excuses for such a bad start to this 2nd leg to do exactly what they did 5 years earlier at Stamford bridge and go 3-0 down on the night early on. They only just managed the unlikely comeback in 1999/00 but you can't keep giving yourself mountain's to climb.

This match is the onset of me being a Chelsea fan until now. So many memories I’ve had since then, including another match against Barca when the referee stole the victory from the blues, John Terry missing the penalty in Moscow final against MU, Drogba scoring a header and saving the final against Bayern and then bringing the first CL cup, Havertz bringing the second against MC.
