He was bought on as our penalty specialist and didn't save any of the eleven so when it came down to him to be the last that would send anyone in their heads know what I mean. I am usually depressed and angry when Chelsea loses a game especially when we throw away so many chances like that. But that was such a great game it didn't matter who won at that point. It would have been deserved either way.

@@souixds Agreed. I have a theory. Initially Kepa seemed up for it. Was up to his usual antics and mind games but i think that Fabinho and Van Dijk penalties just derailed his confidence early on. Cant blame him tbh, Liverpool's first 5 penalties were all side netting or a panenka. Jota and Origi went down the middle. The pressure is building up. Robertson sent him the wrong way. He tried again with Elliot by pointing to his right but lost the mind games again. That led him to completely fluff Konate's penalty straight after which was totally save-able. The Kelleher's penalty was the last straw.

@@farazahmad2829 well him Ziyech Mendy, Rudi, Kova, James, Chilwel have been great but injuries really hurt our season. Mount and James when they aren't playing you can see the quality isn't the same. The hate comes from the fact he is a English boy. We are always going to love and favourtise our academy boys because we are a English club. They aren't immune for criticism but we love to see it, it's rare that we get first team quality academy players coming in. You are going to have to get use to it because Gallagher will soon be the next Mason, Reece and Callum.

Really feel sorry for Kepa. All our hopes were on him. But it seems like he really lost the plot there, conceding those types of goals from Fabinho, Van Djik, and Kelleher made him lose his cool in the final moments. He should've just went for a simple, risk-free penalty.

LFC fan here. I wanted to take a look at how the Chelsea commentators viewed things... I like their commentary. What a close game... for me, Chelsea had the better opportunities, and LFC somehow, somehow didn't end-up 1,2,3, goals to the bad. In the end, what fine lines. What a shoot-out. Commiserations to all Chelsea fans... I've thoroughly enjoyed the games between our two clubs, over the past 3 -4 years I think they have given us the very best games, sheer quality. One we go! Best nil-nil I've ever seen, Chelsea were magnificent opponents and the only difference was the incorrect decision to replace Mendy for the shootout. He'd been hideously good all game long, he was sharp, and whilst we can't possibly know, I look back on the penalties and have to wonder if the result would have been very different had he stayed on.
