The best I've seen ever. Casimero thought he was close to the same level as kante, but boy, he was bemused at the speed of kante. I've watched him for 6 years now, they're not close, kante is the best ever in this Position. Sometimes, I still watch him and say wahooo, like the tackle on Debruyn in the champions league final, that's equivalent to scoring a wonderful goal. I watched him at the world cup against Argentina, he totally frustrated messi, he's energy is 2nd to none. On top of that, I love his calmness and simplicity. Love you kante

Honestly the only midfielder close to him is Ndidi, who has volume in defensive actions (playing for a team that's typically defended for more of the game) but Kanté makes up for it in success rate, which was the case when he played for Caen and Leicester anyway. Different class.

Kanté presses more in the final third (which is helped by the system and role he plays in, because context matters) but Ndidi actually presses 60% more overall and there's only a 3% difference in success rate between them. If we're being really pedantic, the only players close to Kanté in terms of ability and style over the years have been Allan and Nainggolan.

When we were losing hazard to Madrid, my solace was Kanté especially after watch the Europa league final vs Arsenal. He is so humble and looks like someone who has had to work twice as much as anyone to earn the respect he deserves.
