How to Attach Jingles to Jingle Dress: The Jingle Dress Chronicles

Part 6: I show you how to attach the cones to your dress.

Always wondered how that worked. If you put tape - masking or painter's tape - on the jaws of your pliers or vice grips, you'll still get a good grip and less likely to scratch or damage your pieces. You can do multiple layers if you wish. Nice video. Thank you.

In Noway we have these traditonal dresses called bunad, but they have not evolved since the time simular clothing was worn for everyday wear. Pepole might wear them in a more modern way by having their hair loose or wearing nylong stockings and sunglasses. But the dresses themself are in someways frosen in time. I just find it so beautiful that you have a dress that has bougth these higly traditonal and cultural elements but also a zipper. It just shows how alive it is, how it continues to evolve with the people and new inventions. I look forward to learning more about your culture.

Thank you for sharing! I have a question: I feel like my tabs were a hair too far apart and I put on 80% of the cones already. Is there a way to make the cones a little wider to make them touch to make sound? Or, is there any other option? It's my first jingle dress and I'm stressing out about it :(

how many jingles should one use or is there a set number for cultural purposes? sorry i need to know because my daughter chose this dance to dance.

It depends on your age but traditionally it’s 365 jingles for an adult dress. One for each day of the year.
