Cheltenham Spa 1980-2016 Then and Now Part 1

This is a video i shot during Summer 2016 to show how my home town of Cheltenham has changed since 1980.
I'm so lucky to have been born here and i absolutely love looking back at old footage of Cheltenham and comparing it to modern times. I'm sure i'm not the only one who enjoys these types of videos, so i thought i would make one of my own for others to enjoy.
I have this romantic idea that in 30 years time somebody else may take this video that i have put together and add to it further.
Life is short and i find it very sad that a lot of the people from the original footage will have no doubt passed away now, i'd like to dedicate this video to their memory and thank my lucky stars i was born in this beautiful green little Town in The Cotswolds.

After living in Cheltenham for ten wonderful years I left in 1987 and moved to Toronto. So in my mind the town is permanently frozen in time and this video takes me back to that time. Great job and thank you!

I too was lucky to have been born and lived in Cheltenham from 1946 until the year 2000 , and loved my town like no other .....

Brilliant! In 2011 my wife and I took an apartment in Cheltenham for 5 weeks as the base for our "West Country" holiday. We loved Cheltenham and is surrounds, and hope to return. Thanks for your video - it brought back some great memories.

My beloved late father John Margetts directing traffic into Pittville Pump Rooms. Dad was caretaker here from 1973-1988 before being made redundant by CBC

change the music please, the original 1980s footage was perfect because it was so serene and set the mood, this music is too choppy and doesnt have the same feel, just an opinion
