The adhesive is polyvinyl acetate glue nothing special. Locally It is called German glue or Fevicol glue which is white in color and is used for binding wood, plywood, laminate etc. and becomes transparent upon drying. It is easily available in any hardware store. Also if you don't have the glass powder, use grout powder (sanded tile cement) instead. It also does the job and makes the string/dorr coarse enough. Hope this information was helpful to the other kite enthusiasts like me. Peace.
