ventudeca either way you want to, I just hosed it down before to have some water on the vehicle before applying the soap. It's really a user preference

Your supposed to get the area wet before you wash it so pretty much it helps with loosening the dirt up.

D1G1TALSYNAPS3 Twist the black nob thats on the top all the way down and you should be good.. also depends on the soap your using and how much psi your pressure washer is putting out. Mix warm water and soap for great suds!

where'd the dirt go as you started foaming the car? The first image had heavy dirt on the rims, door sills and tires then as you cut to spraying, it's magically gone??? You may as well have just hosed it off without the foam because it looked pretty freaking clean from just a 'rinse'

Never use a rag, could scratch your paint. A microfiber towel/mitt is recommended. It's used to pre-wash, so as to avoid scratching the paint. Might be a bit extreme for most or a daily driver.

TheSoloAsylum Dish soap will strip any wax and sealant your paint has protecting it, a rag is coarse, so it will scratch your paint. But even if you have a wash mitt like this bozo, washing in circles will cause swirl marks.
