This is amazing Sonic 2 was my first ever video game I owned and beat and I still consider it the best sonic game to this day. Chemical Plant and Metropolis Zone are 2 tunes that still sound great 20 years later.

Is it me, or did they significantly tone down the Mega muck* in this level? Yeah, it’s still there, but I can only recall one section towards the end where it shows up. And even then, it’s not too bad. Nowhere near as bad as the death trap in the original. *Yes, that is actually the pink water’s name. The Sonic 2 US manual misspelled it as Mega Mack, but it’s called Mega Muck literally everywhere else.
