when lung expands, there is little space in pleural cavity to accomodate fluid which you are injecting so when you injecting 50 ml fluid with pressure little fluid will come out through ICTD site

I have Adena carcinoma of lungs in right side. In left side there is pleural effusion. Doctor said if Adena carinoma of lungs is not cured , pleural effusion will exist. There is no treatment. Is it right?

Okey..This is big topic to discuss..any how i ll give u few points here.. In Management of Malignant Ple effusion.. 1) Effusion with Trap lung and/or fluid drain >150 ml/day- Pigtail catheter 2) Fully expanded lung with drain 1 Months if expected survival

what if betadine absorbs from pleural surface sir? have you noticed any complications with respect to betadine toxicity?

Nothing will happened..... 1st of all it dont absorbe from pleura...even absorbe also nothinh will happened...betadine is used in many raw surface like wound, Oral care etc..it is safe

Hello Sir! I had 2nd attack of pnemothorax and i recently underwent chemical pluerodesics, rather then using talc doctors used bleomycin, is that a good choice? I'm little bit worried, please guide me sir,

Yes Bleomycin is also good agent for pleurodesis...little costlier

I had second pnemothorax, I have recovered from second episode but doctors advised me too go under plurodesis, please guide me is this good decision to go under this surgery or leave it with hope that I won't get third episode, please guide me sir.

Hi..Since you got pneumothorax 2 times, there is fair chance to get pneumothorax 3rd time again. Now Pleurodesis can’t be done now because you have already recovered and chest tube is out. If you get pneumothorax 3rd time then you should undergo Pleurodesis.
