HOMEWORK ANSWER Silver Cloride (AgCl) or Bromide (AgBr) are used in black and white photographic plates. When these compound come in the contact with the sunlight, or in the presence of sunlight, they decompose forming grey Silver and Clorine/ Bromine gas. This is an example of decomposition reaction, specially, photolytic/photochemical one. That's the reason, it is stored in dark bottles to prevent light's contact. The reaction above is: 2AgCl (s) -----(in sunlight)-----> 2Ag (s) + Cl2 (g) 2AgBr (s) -----(in sunlight)-----> 2Ag (s) + Br2 (g) NOTE; Any suggestion would be considered and welcomed! :) With due respect, Vansh Tyagi
