If You know to find Oxidation And Reduction The Mantra is ***Oxidation=Reducing Agent = Substance Oxidised ***Reduction=Oxidising Agent = Substance Reduced Concept:- (Oxidation is The line you draw from Reactant side to product side to show Oxidation. The Arrow which denote the (substance) is Oxidation substance)

MnO2 + 4HCl ---> MnCl2 + Cl2 + 2H2O In this question , there is both addition of H and also addition of O in case of HCl then why we are saying that HCl is oxidising ti H2O
