It sad that they lost to such a basic sounding marching band, the only thing I can say is that the judge likes sounds that put you to sleep like they say there's only one BEST and they came in second place this year.

+Angela Short Thats your opinion.....Minor sounded great & looked great. didn't over blow,they was VERY balanced & musical!!!! Alot going on in Minor show. I love the Haven, & I don't really like Corp...but in this case...Minor got them!

+Kevin Reed Thanks for your comment Kevin, there were some great moments about Minor, my favorite is how they take the field they charge out like soldiers ready for combat, but after that the war is off. Kevin you speak of the visual things that are going on in the show and I really enjoyed this also they were on point, but you see when you go against a band like The HAVEN, you are going to need all these extra things to stand out and Minor knew what they needed to do but as you say this is only my opinion

looking back at it now. both bands need sum work. whitehaven had sum mess ups, minor hand some too, whitehaven had crazy runs from them b tones, minor played more balanced but need some more runs ( like haven had in boogie wonderland). haven had a gritty south sound, minor had a more ensemble sound, i cant fully calculate but i think they both had some fluff issue. haven had popped notes but that began to fall off due to them 90s they march. to me both bands did ok but 1 problem... why is a high stepping band in a corp style event. they dnt strafe left and right... last question.. should they even been qualified due to that....

Clearly whitehaven won that's why I never liked finals this band is better then some college bands and they are clearly consistent in every catagory y'all were robbed and this is coming from su and JSU band head and I'm from Texas y'all were robbed keep the drive for excellence

The only thing that hurt them in finals was marching errors. Other than that, I agree they were the best.

I think that we(Minor) had competition.There sound was good but to me Whitehaven didn't march a lot this year. I refuse to let people say we "barley" won when I have seen Whitehaven times before. Yes, I give them credit for being a good band but not sure that they are a winning band to me. This is my opinion and don't get salty for what I am saying. Whitehaven sounded much better last year to me personally. They didn't have much going for them visually and they played basic music. Minor on the other hand had been practicing since July and worked very hard for this 3rd win. My flag team has good timing and entertaining difficulty. Our routines were not basic but the opposite of that. We have only had a dance team for two years so not much going for them at this point. Our drum majors on the other hand have class, we don't make our show dirty just to win. We win with class and elegance. I am sorry if I offended anyone but these are just my thoughts. Overall,Whitehaven is a good band and yes Minor did come in with a bigger mind set to win so that's exactly what we did.

To be completely honest Minor was better in certain categories and whitehaven was better in certain categories. Minor had a better dance girl feature and drumline feature and whitehaven had a better drill and ballad

Minor was very clean and had a much better sound quality than Whitehaven. The sound of "the Haven" was lost with EVERY turn they made and their lines weren't even straight lines in "all the transitions"....transitions that weren't even on a high school difficulty level. I actually cringed at their drum majors' routines because there were a lot of age inappropriate moves, although I know it was for show and "effect". Btw, what was the purpose of the Whitehaven flags? No added effect whatsoever....just blah. Overall, MHS outshined Whitehaven, hands down and we shall see what 2016 brings to the table.

I don't think so I strongly disagree Whitehaven sounds were blended beautifully as always, Minor was just OK not bad but OK I'm sorry but I think that the flag girls won this competition for them,I didn't hear people speaking of the band they were bragging on the flags and they were outstanding, just beautiful, they deserve all the credit the band just didn't pull it off for me and the drum majors completely boring basic, basic, basic they just played it safe, but hey by luck they won.

I think its childish to keep saying whitehaven should have won. Apparently Minor is the best. The results prove yall wrong. Minor won 3 times in a row. But it doesn't matter. We are on to bigger and better things so Whitehaven can have nationals next year.😌

I think it's childish that u think y'all really beat Whitehaven. The music y'all played was basic, the marching was not high stepping for a high stepping event. Y'all flags was the best thing y'all have. Plus y'all marched crop style whitehaven is straight traditional so please don't say it like y'all really can even come close to beat Whitehaven any day.
