I love how positive wil was during this hard days of his life but adoring him also breaks my heart thinking of those cancer patients who are fighting alone, some are no money to afford chemo and some has no family to support them. How will someone fight for their lives if its hard to be positive in the first place? Wil you are lucky remember that. Be strong always and be grateful for what you have. Prove us that cancer is just a word and keep insipiring people especially to those people who are fighting for their lives and having a hard time. Life is unfair but there's a rainbow after the rain to remind us that it's not. There's still God who will love us when there is no one left for us. Keep fighting!

+sheentheexplorer that can but both ways. One time I was riding my bicycle on a street that has vehicular traffic but usually you don't see people walking there. There was a girl standing in a bus stop. Then as I approach where she was standing she called me. She asked me if I can wait until the bus comes because she did not want to stand there by herself alone. Never met her before. So I stood there until the bus came and she got on board. But I can understand the sentiments. When I am in the Philippines I'm alive whether I am dead or not. One hotel I stayed at in Quezon City I did not need an alarm clock. My window faced the main street. Early in the morning i would hear constant horns of jeepneys. Where I live you better have good reason to blow your horn or else you can get an expensive fine. There's a guy who vlogs on here who made a video about when his vacation ends in the Philippines he experiences the blues. There are always people around him. In his videos in San Francisco and Los Angeles I've seen him walking in videos where there is no one walking on the sidewalks. Only vehicles passing by.

First cycle would be the initial treatment, lowering your sugar levels.. basically all cellular function. Second cycle would be the dexamethasone which is a steroid and maintain sugar levels plus the chemo (anti-alkylating, anti-metabolite, depends what chemo was given to you), usually dexamethasone is for anti-inflammatory but can also be for cancer patients. People with cancer undergoing chemotherapy are often given dexamethasone to counteract certain side effects of their antitumor treatments, that's why you're not feeling the side effects of your chemo.

Ganyan talaga when you know siopai isn't there anyway to take care of you. I do know someone though who goes to the gym the day after chemo - runs the treadmill and all that. She's probably the same age as your mom, or older, and this is her 3rd battle with cancer. I didn't find the "ghost street" odd, it's the same as in our village here in Metro Manila. My mom had stage 4 cancer and did aggressive chemo. She felt normal just like you (besides sensitivity to the cold) and even worked out regularly. She didn't get the side effects of chemo (hair loss only) until after 6 months when she switched to moderate chemo. I believe you're just fine because you're healthy just like my mom was.

The coffee's finished and it's time to sit down, take a look, and see what you can show us today... Yeah... The whole chemo response your body is giving you seems a bit weird (Naturally, this is only my take on what I've seen from friends and family who've underwent chemotherapy). Rather than sitting around and letting life happen to you, you've gone out and filled your lungs with sweet air and forced that oxygen loaded blood throughout your body by getting your heart pumping. You're giving folks a great object lesson that life is as short as a blink of an eye and should be filled with precious things. Steve Dasovich (your dad and my current hero) is out with you, taking it all in. The thing that made him even more of a role model is that he got that bike fixed right away. He wasn't going to waste a moment of time by just sitting and letting you ride alone. He's proving that "family is a team sport." My son's bike needs to go to the shop... so Steve's actions are making me look at my own inaction. I love the fact that you were swinging a baseball bat. My first thought when I saw this is that "He's taking his swings" today. That brought me to the picture of you being in the "on deck circle" ready to step in the box... no matter who was pitching in the game. Take those hacks and truly enjoy them. Oh... one last thing... your mom's back yard. It's a jungle!!! We're trying to cultivate our own backyard, but the desert heat makes it hard to cooperate. Nevertheless, we're sending our son out on evening watering missions. Tell her that I'm impressed with her green thumb. It's awesome. Gotta run and go be a teacher again....

Hi Will! I had the same 'hyper effects of being in chemotherapy. I'm a Stage 1C Ovarian CA Survivor for 5 years this month. I'm just not sure which cycle did I feel so good & it came to a point when I can't sleep & just decided to fix my closet at 1:30 in the morning coz I feel so alive when everyone's fast asleep, LOL!!! I have a mild case of Cerebral Palsy due to traumatic birth. So just imagine the struggles I've been in & yet I'm STILL here! :). GOD Bless YOU, Will :-)

when my mom was having chemo, she had different reactions for each cycle (she had six) ...we couldn't tell what would come after each cycle but I've come to just asking her if its a good day or a bad day. Bad days are when she just needs to sleep and sleep... good days are when she's up for some tv or even short walks But I don't let her go alone 'cause she would have dizzy spells even on "good days"...

Been following your battle. Was diagnosed last night with kidney cancer. Had no symptoms. Caught because I had a growth in my nostril which was thought to be inflamed scar tissue from a previous septi plast. Since the granulima was negative before surgery to remove it.They dbl checked ,Thank God. Cat scan revealed whole body clear except a baseball sized tumor in my left kidney. Radical nephrectomy and chemo to follow. Keep posting your journey. Glad your Dad is a survivor. I pray you will be as well. Goid luck. Peace and health to you.
