Woodward-Fieser rules for benzoyl derivatives

After studying a large number of different benzoyl derivatives, Woodward and Fieser came up with an empirical correlation between the structural changes and λmax, that enable us to predict the λmax of an unknown benzoyl derivative. These are called Woodward-Fieser rules. In this lecture, different term involved, Woodward-Fieser rules for benzoyl derivatives and some examples have been discussed in detail.
