I love how Chen is this good but he never let greed take over his decisions. He never thought he was too talented for his parts in EXO and he wanted to wait until he felt ready to embark on his solo career. At the core of it, I think all the boys feel that what they do together and the relationship that they have is a very special kind that you would lucky to get a taste of in another working situation... and so while they have individual dreams, they also bind themselves to their dreams as a member of EXO. Also, Jongdae is the sweetest. He deserves to be a successful singer for as long as he wants to be in the industry.
