Loved this video! It brought back happy memories of my vacation about 4 and a half years ago with my daughter. It's fun to see the places I got to visit. My massage was wonderful there. The ambiance in the little cabins was great. The salad I had at the restaurant, made from their fresh greens, was without a doubt the best I ever tasted. We had a lot of fun at Chena Hot Springs 😊

Glad you enjoyed it! We always try to eat there when we go. I had ordered the salad, but he forgot to bring it 😱 everyone was almost done eating by the time he came back to the table. I told him to take it off the bill because I was satisfied with soup I had. He did take it off the bill but gave me the salad anyway, I ended up bringing it home. I loved when they sold the fresh veggies from the greenhouses, they don't anymore. They are the best! I hope you get to come back and visit again some time. ☺

Oh man you could have come with us when we were up there!!! ❤ The hot springs under the northern lights was soooo fun!! COLD 🥶 but fun 😄😄😄😄 You also pass the Denali bus airbnb!! It's on that road!! AND that roundabout at the end.... I went around that thing like a car in Tokyo drift 😳
@AlaskanBearsVlogs7 ай бұрын
Next time! I think we will plan an overnight too. It has been to cloudy, foggy, hazy to see the aurora in town this year. They have been beautiful the last week, but I can't see them from here 😭 I have to find that airbnb! So that roundabout is pretty controversial right now, there are big trucks hauling ore that can't go over the bridge, they have to come down, open those gates and drive through, so DOT is keeping it clean now.

You've never been there in the winter? Wow. I admit, you have to be very careful driving there but its still a must. Its such a beautiful place. There trains were not there when I was last there. Thanks for the video. this is the first time I've seen the Hot Springs during the winter since winter of 90, a few months before I left.

I loved it! I will definitely be back in the winter again. That train was new since last summer! They are always up to something there, which is a good thing!

Train? I missed it, now I have to watch it again! We went a couple of years ago, in September, and since we are coming again this year, we will probably stop again.

Hi Bears 🐻 Chena Hot Springs was always fun. We went on fields trips there in elementary school. Do they still do that? It always amazed me how that hot water comes up out of the ground and not freeze. I saw you past Red Squirrel campgrounds, I wonder if that was where I went to scout camp? I don’t remember. What do people think of the roundabouts? We have a few here and most hate them. Glad you had fun. Have a great week. 😊❤
@AlaskanBearsVlogs7 ай бұрын
Hello! I am not sure if the schools do field trips at all anymore, they have cut budgets so much that they can't afford the busses for the trips, this 2024 and 2025 school year they are talking about 30+ kids in a classroom!!! It will be damage control all day, I have no idea how these kids will learn. I think most of the scout camps are at Twin Bears. Heather and Mary had a couple of Fly Fishing trips there. Oh gosh, people hate the roundabouts here, they don't keep them clear enough, so you feel like a bumper car sliding into the curbs while getting through. That one is made for these big ore trucks that can't go over the bridge, they have to get off and get back on, they can open those gates to go straight through, everyone else has to turn. It's strange. Thanks again 🥰😉💖🤗

Our old NY area got heavy wet snow knocking out power in areas. I saw Michigan got snow also. Hot springs make you want a hot tub? Nice place.😊

I saw a lot of places are getting crazy amounts of snow! It was my first time being there in the winter, next time I will do it a little different, but will definitely be back.

Nice drive to the Hot Springs. I'm like you, I don't like to drive in winter either! Did anyone get their hair wet and style it frozen?
@AlaskanBearsVlogs7 ай бұрын
My hair was frozen solid! The guys kept putting snow on their heads, brrrr.

Alaska is so pretty and I’ve always wonder how it’ll be like on a place so cold and getting on the hot spring with hair and lash with little icicles 🥶 The drive was beautiful. I was just wondering how the heck Alaska got lavender farms. NOW I’m curious how these greenhouses work to grow a farm in Alaska in the winter 🤯 cause that’s is so amazing.
@AlaskanBearsVlogs7 ай бұрын
It really was nice up there in the winter. People always tell me that's the best time to go. My hair, eyebrows and lashes were covered in frost, next time I will take the GoPro. They have several greenhouses up there and the tours are free. It helps when the water is what heats things up and that's free too!!!
@sheiladay97307 ай бұрын
Y'all are tough! But how do you handle those extremes! I know Alaska's beautiful but I don't get it
@AlaskanBearsVlogs7 ай бұрын
I love it! I came from Michigan, back in the day, it was pretty cold. We would get now at the beginning of October and wouldn't see the ground again until April. Now Michigan hardly gets snow and the lakes don't freeze over anymore.
