Not only the connectivity between jammu & srinagar with of course with national rail network, the other fact is that very far flung mountain areas of jammu have got connectivity with rail and also the road network of thousands of kilometers in far flung mountain region was built to move men material and machinery and semi finished bridge assembled to construct bridges & tunnels. Plus the jobs in the project that were made available to local contractors which brought economic inflow of resources to these far flung areas. That is an connected benefit that project tendered to the region, otherwise in absence of this project these areas would not have seen progress for many more decades to come.
