Last month main Bangalore se Howrah laut rhi thi, YPR HWH Humsafar Express mein. Or Hamari train Krishna Bridge pe ruki hui thi in the night. OMG The scenic beauty was awesome. Mein to dekhta reh gaya. In the night Krishna Bridge or v khub surat ho jti hai. Hamari train lagvag 20 min ruki hui thi. I never forget the moment.

This brought my earlier journeys in 80s in Coromandel. That it used to leave at 0800 or 0815. The food was always good. It used to take 6 hours roughly to reach Vijayawada from Chennai and was more or less the same speed with Tamil Nadu Exp which runs between Chennai and Delhi and used to leave at 0700 AM in the morning. Krishna Bridge and Gidhavari Bridges are always very attractive. While travelling in How rah Mail used to enjoy lot of food especially in Vijayawada where several varieties of rice used to be available. Palasa Station used to serve lot of fruits too. Tks for coverage which ignited my old memories.😁

One of my most nostalgic routes. Had been taking Coromandel since 97 and on till 2007 (until air travel became cheap) to visit Kolkata during my summer vacations. Used to get amazed at train going on one direction on day 1 and the other direction on day 2 having reversed at Vishakapatnam (Waltair as we used to call it) Thanks for these videos. I had travelled on this train when I was in class 8th. From KUR to MAS. I remember clearly that in those days it was indeed a daily train. This used to bypass CTC and the four rivers Birupa, Kathjodi, Kuakhai and the mighty Mahanadi. Even it used to skip BAM and Vizianagaram. Always on double power KGP WDM2 twins.

Great videos as usual, love to watch! 2:16 India has 5 Central stations. On a different note, Central word no longer has the meaning it used to have as many cities have many important station. Primary point being, the station named Central is the most important station in that city. Cities without a Central station:, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bangalore, Patna, Bhopal, which technically can deserve one.

I have travelled a number of times in Coromandel Express both ways. Earlier there were no direct trains between Bengaluru and Howrah. So the best way was to either take the night Bengaluru-Chennai Mail and then change to Coromandel Express at Chennai. The alternative was to take Shatabdi from Bengaluru in the afternoon and change to Chennai Howrah mail at night from Chennai.

Satya Sir, I traveled in this train October 13th, 2018. The whole South eastern train route via Kharagpur, Bhubaneshwar, Srikakulam Road, Vishakhapattanam were disrupted due to a Cyclone ('Titli' if I'm not wrong)and most of the south bound trains were cancelled. Luckily on 13th, Coromandel Express departed from Howarh junction with a delay of an hour and we reached the Chennai Central only 45 minutes delay. The journey experience was very good and it's one of the finest train connecting Howrah and Chennai

Nice coverage. Introduced in 1977. From Howrah first stoppage was Bhubaneswar followed by waltair now Vishakhapatnam followed by Vijayawada finally Chennai Central. My first travel in Coromandel was in the year 1985. Howrah next stoppage was Kharagpur followed by Bhubaneswar Vishakhapatnam rajamundry Vijayawada finally Chennai Central. Howrah- Kharagpur electric loco Kharagpur- Vishakhapatnam diesel loco Loco reversal at Vishakhapatnam Vishakhapatnam to Vijayawada diesel loco Vijayawada to Chennai Central electric loco.
