After completion of our personal work, we decided to visit Mahabalipuram and Pondicherry to see Krishna's Butter Ball, Pancharath Temple, Sea Shore Temple, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville and various important places of Pondicherry. So we had booked a rental Cab from Chennai to Pondicherry and back.
On the first day, we started our journey from Chennai to Pondicherry via Mahabalipuram through East Coast Road. The journey was so pleasant and cheerful to us and we enjoyed the road side beauty from Chennai to Mahabalipuram.
East Coast Road (ECR) , combination of SH-49, NH-332A, NH-32, is a two way lane highway (now being partially widened to four lanes from Chennai to Mahabalipuram) in Tamilnadu, India, built along the Bay of Bengal coast. It connects Tamilnadu state capital Chennai with Kanyakumari via Pondicherry, Rameshwaram. The total length of the road is about 777 km between Chennai and Kanyakumari.
