We don't know how much input she had in the final song. Still, what made it such a huge hit was the use of Autotune, which had nothing to do with her. That's the producer's doing. We give singers too much credit and not enough to the creative and technical teams behind the hits.

@@Trunchisholm I have seen interviews where Cher talks about she suggested completey changing the vibe of the song to a dance style tune and she also was talking about she changed some of the lines cause the other just didn’t seem right

@@kieransvacs4545 I think she wrote the second verse “‘What Am I supposed to do, Sit around and Wait for you, No I can’t do that, there’s no Turing back and after all is said and done your gonna be there lonely one. She said the original lyrics that had been presented to her sounded like someone who was a little too bit Whiney , 😢and that wouldn’t be her. ❌. So she wrote that verse

I read somewhere she said she didn't ask for/want a writing credit. I'm sure if she would've asked, she would been credited.

@@Vf46 this year in an interview she said she was just stupid, and would've been much richer if she asked for that. I guess it was on Kelly Clarkson show but may be wrong :)

With all Cher's money and fame, I think that if she had written any of it, she would have gone for it. This 'demo' version was written entirely by two British writers (who sent it to Cher), and the US writers who worked on the changes did their best to diminish the contributions of the original writers - who I am sure won big lawsuit money.

This is so much better than final Cher version. It's sounds little bit like Achtung Baby by U2 and One By One by Cher. I still can't stand 1998 hit😂
