I read a fan fic the other day and it went like: Charles slumped against the wall holding the razor blade and bottle of sleeping pills tears clouding eyes his vision as he remembered the man he would kill for but who never loved him back he sent Erik a mental message saying how much he loved him all this time and that he’s sorry as he slit his already scarred wrists and downed the entire bottle of sleeping pills. Just as he was about to pad out he saw someone trying to bust open the door through his cloudy wet eyes that was when he blacked out Erik ran in he stood in the doorway shocked beyond emotion he just stood there until it hit him and he started sobbing he knelt down to examine his scarred wrists and the empty bottle of sleeping pills and the several empty bottles of wine on the bed and the small envelope he didn’t even notice when Alex and Shaun came sprinting in he let them call the ambulance and carry Charles to the ambulance. Erik sat on Charles’ blood stained bed still shaking with sobs he looked at the letter on the ground and picked it up as he started to read his tears dropped onto the paper and he started very loudly sobbing not caring what anyone else thought in this moment the letter read: “to Erik, I’m so very sorry about everything I realise now that this place is better off without me your life would be better off without me so goodbye Erik I always loved you I had to hide it because I knew you didn’t feel the same months of hiding it and being separated from you has been the worst months of my life I hope you understand the pain I’ve been in so goodbye Erik” Erik sat so shocked he didn’t notice that several other people had entered the room he dropped the letter to the ground and slowly shaking tears still running down his cheeks got up still seemingly not seeing the several shocked students in the doorway he walked out. slowly he walked to Charles office not caring about all the people staring at him as he walked sobbing down the hall when he got there he looked out the window to see the ambulance speeding away he sat in charles’ old chair shaking unable to think straight he sits there for about half an hour unable to comprehend what happened not wanting to think about it soon Raven slowly knocks on the door he tries to answer but nothing comes out she quietly opens the door and whispers “Eric?” Erik had his face in his hands his hair is scruffy and when he lifted his head she saw his eyes were puffy and red and his cheeks were wet “what?” He mumbled raven stood in silence not knowing what to do slowly she approached him and sat next to him not saying a word after a few seconds she started rifling through her bag and brought out a large book “here” she said obviously trying not to cry he looked up and rubbed his eyes looking away from her and picked up the book as soon as he saw the first page tears fills his eyes again and the more he looked the more he started to cry he started sobbing in the book were love letters and poems and pictures of them together and on the last page it said “all the things I wish I could say to you but never got the courage to” Raven started to cry too, they spent 10 minutes crying with each other before Raven decided to leave him alone for a bit *several weeks later* Erik is driving to the hospital to see Charles he has been in a coma ever since *that day* he sits in silence on the way wondering if Charles will ever come back wondering if Charles will ever get to hear Eric finally telling him he loves him too when he reaches the hospital he can’t help but think what if Charles doesn’t want to come back? These thoughts haunted him all the way until he found his ward but when he saw Charles all these thoughts went away he sat whispering to Charles for a while thinking “please Charles I loved you I really did” that’s when the unexpected happened Charles twitched and then a look of pure pain and sadness drew across his face Erik sat back stunned hoping this was when he woke up Charles slowly opened his eyes as Eriks started to dampen but just a few seconds later Charles shot up and started angrily tearing at his scars blood started to pour from his arms and erik had to restrain Charles on the bed until thr doctor came. As soon as Charles saw Eric tears started forming in both their eyes and Charles whispered “you came I thought you didn’t care” “of course I came I always cared about you I always loved you Charles I just couldn’t express it” he leant in for a kiss and cried against eachother for what felt like hours Does anyone know what trope this is plz tell me if you do Nvm it’s angst isn’t it
