Imagine; after the explosion, there was a problem, which if not solved would cause 10x more radiation all across Europe and into parts of Canada and the United States. But unfortunately, there was only one way to solve it, which involved swimming into the depths of radioactive water, directly under the reactor, opening up a drain to let the water out, and then climbing back up. Sounds terrifying right? But, fortunately for all of us today, 4 men made the ultimate sacrifice, and completed this mission, leaving loved ones and family behind, knowing that if no one did it, the world would face a grim future. They were called the "Chernobyl Divers", and were awarded for this great act. Unfortunately, they were so radioactive, that they all perished, within two weeks. It's because of them, that Europe and parts of the United States and Canada aren't vastly affected by this tragedy. May they rest in peace, and may God be with them.

@@travelerguide1251 On April 26 1986, A nuclear powerplant named Chernobyl, blew up, the cause was poor designing, The communist dictators rushed the people so they had to build it fast, they were doing a test, when the reactor overheated due to the fans being shut off. The 4th reactos blew up becoming EXTREMELY radioactive, 300 times the same amount safe to humans, the soviets didnt want to alarm people, so they kept it silent not giving any details, causing people to become radioactive, They tried to fill it with water, causing the hot granite to make it steam, also making the radiation into clouds, They finally evacuated the city in the footage and abandoned it, The cloud however went to Europe, causing radiation, a powerplant checked to see radiation and saw that it was high, they thoigut it was theirs, but they noticed it came from russia. They wanted answers, the soviets only told them there was a "minor" accident. Causing manyd deaths, finnaly they told the truth and fixed it after alot, Chernobyl is still highly radioactive, giving things poison, killing them slowly.

This reminds me of when I worked at this big cement plant which closed suddenly in 2008 during the economic meltdown and all the workers pretty much had to all leave in one day and they locked it up. 10 years later when I worked there they were opening one silo for storage but the plant itself hadn’t been touched in a decade. You could walk back there and see trees and vegetation growing through everywhere, everything once of color had turned grey and rusted, things people had been using were just left in the same place they’d been put down...like the whole place had been frozen in time.

. I was one of the residents living near Prometheus square. I have come to visit my uncle there. He worked as a water pump operator in reactor no.1. At that night, my uncle’s phone rang that the work was cancelled for him the following morning. I could hear people talking down. We hurried downstairs to the lobby where people were making their way to the very famously known-Bridge of death. We went there and saw the fire brigade trucks on every road we crossed, hurrying towards the NPP. When we reached the bridge of death, there was fire fuming in the power plant. We thought it was just some regular fire so we walked back home. And the next story u know. The evacuation part at 2:00 pm. There were all kinds of military vehicles spraying water everywhere in the town and the famous evacuation aanuouncement was blasted through all of the speakers of Pripyat. The soldiers informed us to take our clothes and all necessary luggage. They even told us that we would be back there in 3 days. Btw does anyone know that the amusement park was to open on 1st May for the upcoming mayday holidays. But alas, this incident took place just 6 days prior to the opening, on 25th April. To distract the residents of Pripyat from this incident, the park was opened on 25th April. As everyone knows, the evacuation began on 26th April. So if u see, the park was never actually opened. Just one day before the evacuation, some people got the experience of the amusement park.

A dystopian view of a city, this is pretty much what nature does when mans hands of time stand still. We do not own earth by putting a fence round it or building a nuclear power station . More over spiritual the land owns us for a passage in time, as it will be there long after our footprints in the sand fade ... We see ourselves as caretakers of the planet, yet the reverse is true the mother earth giveth and taketh away, we are mere moments of time and memory carried forward by our children . Nature and earth, reclaims all from whence we came, as we are all children of the stars, elementally forged in a supernova... Phil Proffitt
