Buddy, I've been playing bluegrass banjo\guitar as a second for most of my life. I'm 28 now, started around 11. So I have heard people playing this tune many times over the years but the Cherokee shuffle just never made much sense. After listening to you pick this maybe 20 times it absolutely inspired me to get my mastertone out and try this one again. I really dig your style with all the pull offs and melodic stuff, then the guy playing mandolin right after with the more simplified melody really helped me figure this one out. Thanks brother, I have no clue where your at or If ya still pick but I would sure like to sit down with you one evening.

..love that old D-28! ...On CHEROKEE SHUFFLE, I'd like to point out the following: -its much better to play the low F# on the first part, i.e.-4th fret on the D string, and save the F# you used on first part for the bridge part, and omit the F# that you used on the bridge. or maybe use it for an alternate!

*My Banjo is identical with a Clamshell tailpiece......While I am playing it though it is never going to sound like the banjo player's banjo*
@luminawarren8132 Жыл бұрын
There are arguments that the early 70s may have had leftover pre war rings in them because Gibson moved their bin system around and lost track of where all there rings were stored and when the war broke out in 41 there were pre war rings made sitting on shelves, bins that never got assembled. When you look for the serial numbers between 69 and 70 they are all goofed up no consistency.

What is the attachment on the peg head on several instruments that are already called up?
@bridgitcampbell395711 жыл бұрын
Tuners? clip on tuners, NOT the Banjo tuning pegs
@garymayes324111 жыл бұрын
Bridgit Campbell Bridgit, not tuners... but on the banjo and several other instruments there are attachments clamped on the pegheads, have noticed it in several different posts, mostly in jam sessions, even in different parts of the country.
@bridgitcampbell395711 жыл бұрын
God I love the snappy crack of the banjo, I have an identical banjo, well not the same one but one that looks the same but does not sound like that one, maybe I need a new rim, or maybe I need submerged strings or Chinese finger picks. watcha rekon? and it does not end there. Today I bought a pair of Schallers all I have to do now is figure out how to use them. Stand up the person who said she has more money than brains?
