agree with everything you said other than the light bar, always had my mounted on the roof but i know exactly what your talking about when it come to that glare, i always move mine back and angle down, only ripped two off at Wellsville lol

ewwwwww I kinda wish I didn't know that they made the angry eyes for the XJ! That mod feels equivalent to people that put eyelashes on their car lol.... so dumb

Well, I'm a light junky, but I agree that not all lights and not all light locations are beneficial. I like to place my big lightbar over my roof and not in front of my winshield. I put special care on making sure my roofline casts a shadow over all my hood or at least over 80% of it, in the end, that light is meant to give you a super far beam light for highspeed and not a close by ilumination for crawling. I always like to have: Fog lights in amber Upgraded headlights with warm light (not white, not amber). Offroad beams aiding my OEM high beams in a natural white light A pilar dual lights (offroad beam pods looking towards the front and wide or difused light pods aimed towards the ditches). Finally, the last forward facing light would be an overhead lightbar aimed fuper far away for highspeed. I also put aftermarket rear lights and some camping lights facing to the sides of the rig. Now, for the winch bumper... Not everyone can or needs a winch. I agree with the fact that it is a great tool and a very important one for some trails. But there are lots of people who dont need one at all. I like to take my rig offroading, I so go through some snow in the winter and some mud ocassionally as well as some difficult places. But I never go on my own, I always carry a nice recovery rope, traction boards and I also have 2 lockers in the damn diffs. So, If nothing inside my gear can help me recover, I can take the ropes out, tie myself to other vehicles and be pulled out. Now, If I were to go on my own or just in a 2 vehicle adventure, It would be an absolyte must. But my winch lives in the bumper to look good and not be used (not even once, It is still brand new except for the mud that has gotten into it.) Angry eyes are not worth it, I didn't know they existed but they are a horrible Idea. Everybody who owns an XJ and wants to take it to the mud and dirt should get a nice set of wheels and tires, good quality lift, at least the rear locker, armour and good lights (and an air compressor would also be a good idea). Those are the only absolute essentials

My jeep has fake beadlocks from the PO. I live in the desert so water isnt a problem but i agree on them being outdated. The only benefit i see from them is that it protects the valve stem better than some other wheels. Good video 👍

Fender flares have their place. Yes, they are vunerable to damage, but for us flat landers up north, it gets pretty sloppy in the fall, winter, and spring. Sure gets sickening not being able to see out my windows from the mess the 33's make. Found the knock-off ones from Flea-bay are almost identical to the bushwackers. If you smash one, you can buy a new set for $90.

So what fender flares do you recommend? And what would be good lighting options?

Notch customs xj flares, they suck to install but if you have a pro do it they look amazing

@@alexwhitman3962 I put 4 square lights on the roof and I love them. They are waterproof, impact resistant, have been in the branches many times and are still great. Just this weekend I stayed in the woods after dark and for me it's a great thing to have.
