Sultans Of Ping - Live - U Talk 2 Much
Where's Me Jumper
The Sultans Of Ping FC formed in Cork in 1989, and quickly built up a rabid following based on their live show. The Cult classic "Where's Me Jumper" was their first release in 1992, following which The band moved to the UK and embarked on a marathon series of gigs which enhanced their reputation as a top notch live act.
Debut album "Casual Sex In The Cineplex" was released in 1993 and made the UK top 30, along with their fourth single "U Talk 2 Much". 1994 saw the FC disappear from the name with the release of second album "Teenage Drug".
Sam Steiger was recruited in 1995 to beef up the guitars, as the band changed their name to Sultans and pursued a more American sound. "Good Year For Trouble" came out in 1996 as the band continued their 150 gigs a year policy.
In 1997 Sultans ran out of steam and played their final show in Cork.
Eight years later the band returned due to popular demand. This film captures the biggest show of their first tour in almost a decade, recorded Live at the Savoy Theatre Cork, Ireland on the 21st December 2005 as the band play a greatest hits and misses set to an adoring hometown audience.
