Correcting Andre here, Al. The FIRST 2-10-4s EVER for a US road went to the Texas and Pacific back in 1927 and thus the Texas class was born given that name by T&P. T&P 610 is still around today and is the only I-1 left in existence unfortunately.

NJ Custom Brass other than BLI (plastic) used actual dimensions of the boiler and smokebox, henceforth the clearance issues. WSM and Key T-1's had a slightly smaller diameter. WSM (Westside) used erroneously the unlagged smoke box diameter which looks obvious, but still the loco is quite good. I'm a bit pissed at my crew as they used some of my lessor quality cars.......but they are having a fine time!!! Please note: NJCB does not have anything to do with New Jersey. The NJ are the initials of the owners.....Nick Reese and Jack LaRussa.....and they were based in Long Island, NY. They used several mid-level builders such as Dai Young and Dong Jin, but still many of their imports were well done and were great choices of prototypes. Then again, they imported some of the finest brass models ever with GOM (Goto) as their "Custom Royale" series. Some of these were the several versions of 2-8-8-2's, the SP P-13 (first of the series in 1975), and then the NP class A 4-8-4 which in my feeble opinion was one of the five finest brass locos ever imported. Also, I have never heard of an NJCB re-run, something other importers did which played hell on previous values. Also, Jack LaRussa possesses the finest knowledge of brass locos who I can think of. dong

I say this all the time...and I'll say it again: you guys sure know how to have fun. And I envy y'all!!! I have a T1, too. But, it's an HO brass Reading T1 from Overland Models. It's unpainted and I have nothing to run it on. 🙄 You guys just keep right on having fun (and making me jealous at the same time) I enjoy watching your videos. 😊
