Boy I miss the bay so much . We had a boat on the Eastern Shore for 15 years. I know the entire Bay like the back of my hand. no other estuary in the world has as much to do on it than the Chesapeake Bay has. You can literally anchor out at different anchorages every night for the rest of your life and you still would not fill them all. there's so much to do, so many rivers and towns to visit I love and miss it all. It's all so different. from Chesapeake City in the C &D canal at the head of the bay to Virginia Beach at the end where it empties out into the ocean every place has something different to offer. From the first time I laid my eyes on the bay at Turkey Point at 13 years old I fell in love with it and I knew it would be part of my life. I have always felt at peace when I was part of it. Yeah , I miss it a lot. The Best years of our lives were spent on the Chesapeake Bay.

I agree with you so much, while I only lived on the Bay for 25 years, it is my home of choice. I have watched this MPT production many times and every time is just as thrilling. And if it were possible, I would return to finish my life, on the Eastern Shore this time.

I lived in the Hampton Roads area for 14 years. Yorktown, Newport News and Hampton. I lived in Hampton the longest about 9 years. I miss the Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay so much! I miss going crabbing off my friend's boat dock and fishing in the York river. Going out to the Bay Bridge Tunnel at the 4th island and catching blue fish and gray trout. It's so beautiful up there. I miss it so much.

I wanted to asked if you have the soundtrack to this program. I would like to purchase it if available. I saw this program on KERA in Dallas and love the music as much as the scenery. Thank you for any information you provide.

why wasn't the Abandoned Fort Carroll in the video? It's apart of MD's history and is on the Chesapeake Bay!!!!!!

The entire production is almost two hours and includes Fort Carroll. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it 100%.

In the middle bay, rarely do the waves exceed two feet. But we do have three footers in storms with very short periods. The short periods mean that the waves are steep. That still might not sound like much, but a wave's significance depends on the size of the vessel in which you sit. I've headed out in my 18' jon boat in January and turned around because I decided that bagging a duck or two was not worth figuring out how big a wave I can take over the bow before I am swimming in 35 degree water with boots on my feet and amo in my pockets. I know of two such incidents where hunters learned just that about their boats but did not live to tell anyone the answer.

A high percentage of the land shown in the video is low. A goodly portion will cease to exist in 100 to 200 years with rising sea levels. Surprised they didn't mention this in the video. To quote Pogo, we've seen the enemy and it is us.

You really need to see the entire video, this is a trailer. And not a commercial for a helicopter company, but I got a chuckle from that.
