The unfortunate truth is not everyone is physically beautiful. It would be more powerful to tell people that despite what you look like you still have worth. Side note: what is it with these body positive campaigns that NEVER include people with disabilities? What's the message you're sending about their bodies?

well, the campaign isn't about telling all women they're beautiful. it's about encouraging young girls to feel good about themselves no matter what they look like and to use positive language about themselves and each other online rather than being mean. as for people with disabilities, i absolutely agree they deserve more representation in these sorts of campaigns. models like Jillian Mercado (who has muscular dystrophy & uses a wheelchair) and Mama Càx Landed (an amputee) are absolutely incredible models and have booked some huge campaigns for brands like Diesel and Refinery29. While that's just a start, i'm hopeful that their visibility will lead to more opportunities for disabilities advocates to be represented across a variety of platforms.

Yeah, I hope their visibility will lead to more opportunities too. But there's a good chance that it won't. Liberals and progressive seem to enjoy ignoring disable people in favor of other minorities. Anyway, good luck with your campaign!

Dove promotes whatever's convenient for them. They'll do campaigns about loving and embracing yourself while they capitalize off skin bleaching products in other countries.

i didn't say it was offensive. i said it CAN BE USED to preface something negative. the purpose of the glossary is to help parents and guardians understand the phrases uses online and how they can potentially impact self esteem. that means discussing the positive and negative sides of some sayings

chescaleigh tons of words and sentences can preface something that's offensive. such as: "honestly", "I think", "my belief is", "I feel that", and the list goes on.

sure! but the glossary wasn't about "tons of words" it was about common INTERNET phrases, and TBH was one of them.

chescaleigh I just don't see the purpose of pointing out that tbh could be an indicator of a mean statement. Surely if you just read the statement itself you would know, why do you have to look out for tbh? Like if someone wrote "tbh you're ugly" on the internet, you would know that's mean by the "you're ugly" part.
