This series is so good, it really helps a beginner like me see how great players think and plan ahead. It’s especially impressive how Anna can talk through it all with the clock ticking and stay so calm!

Anna is very informative and funny. seen the ending several times. go to time 24:35 it was Anna turn, so she was like explaining with a real calm voice, “this is actually a checkmate, ok, this is really pretty, you can see the king is in the same diagonal as my bishop, (the opponent resigns ) Anna yells: “nooo they didnt let me checkmate, nooo , ok thats fine” it was nice, two checkmates an also the queen covering the escape route : )

Actually white was standing much better and the example from blacks camp was really bad. She got Lucky. Black is strong when it keeps the defense closed and bishop aimed at the opponents King. She keeps making the same mistakes. I can be nice and she is nice but as we all do we keep playing the same way and if you do you will not become better. Check the engine and get out the mistakes.

At 11:42, I had to play it out in my head several times to figure out why it doesn't make sense to go Rook-B8...now I understand. I think your gift is how you can express your thought processes in every move, packaged in a concise and clear way, and your personality is bright and encouraging...all put together in an entertaining way! I'm just a beginner, but you've rekindled my interest in Chess. Thanks!

At 2:46, it would actually be better to capture with the knight rather than the queen. After knight takes bishop d7, pawn c6, you can take b4 with bishop, and then you will be able to go knight c5 on the next move.

At 3:09 the White Rook could have moved to E-1 , Threating the Rook ! The only good move for the White Rook is H-3 or C-3 to trade Rooks , which I do Not like followed by White Knight to C-2 ! White Rook to H-1 is a move , White is still in trouble at this point but has a fighting chance and Time !
