0:59 As you can see, the player desperately tried to establish a monopoly in order to buy the opponent's king, but Black sacrificed R2D2 in order to send White's queen to the shadow realm. After White advanced his pawn to the center, Black decided to take his chances in shooting White's king with his gun. Brilliant game, but White could have easily bribed the korean president to launch a missile on Black's side of the board, winning the game on the spot as well as evaporating his opponent from existence.

One can learn so much from this game! I haven't ever considered going R2D2e6 during the opening, but I put the moves into Stockfish and it's actually classified as a Brilliant move (understandable since it leads to that beautiful Queen capture at 1:10). Will try next time I'm playing a championship and have some loose change. - Magnus Carlsen (Ohio version)

How to win: checkmate, other player resigns, other player goes bankrupt, and winning by time. Pawns: -can move 1-3 squares on their first move. -also en passant is forced -Triple move is not affected by en passant Knights: -Follow the same rules as normal knights -if they reach the end of the board then they are promoted to unicorn. -unicorns are nights and queens Rooks: -Can be inverted at any time -castling with inverted rooks switches places with the king, you don't need to clear the other pieces -inverted rooks can go off the board Bishops: -If you get to move 30 and you have the bishops alive, you become the holy roman empire and get a second queen Queen: -After move 20 you can have a wedding and half of each players pieces leave for 10 moves Cost 1000 monopoly The kings will be gone so there is no check or mate, basically after this you have to wipe out all of your opponents pieces King: -If you can get your king to the other end of the board then you can make a “keen” which is a queen and a king combined R2D2: -costs 1.25$. -once bought can be placed on any square on your side of the board -Can see every square, except the king DICE: -can be rolled after 2 moves each -Makes the piece move the number rolled Poker: -You can start poker at any time, after 3 moves each -if you win poker you unlock the gun which has 5 bullets for you to shoot any piece. -the dragon/millennium falcon is only a poker betting tool -The more poker chips you have, the higher the elo reward -if you win poker, you get the gun which has 5 shots to the other king Monopoly money: -At the beginning of the game each of the players start with 2,500 dollars in monopoly money. -Once the game reaches move 5 you are allowed to buy houses and hotels for your pieces -houses cost 500$ (monopoly money) -hotels cost 1000$ (monopoly money) -if you capture a piece with a house on it you owe the other player 1000$ (monopoly money). Hotel = 1500$ (monopoly money)

That was one of the best games I've ever saw. you think taking the Monopoly money is a big blunder, because you've got money on the side and he could build houses and built even an hotel on the queen. That gave him such a huge advantage but the fact, that you preditcted it with the R2D2 e6 is such an phänomenal play. And the Dragon trade gave you the ability to use the gun which is such an risky move. Well played on both sides.

@stevemc01
@stevemc01 Жыл бұрын
@@JonGamer16 Yeah and he should have just kept pressing his knight instead of leaving it there to be captured. Then he could challenge his opponent to a horse bet and rig the match to break the other horse's leg so you will obtain all his money and install hotels on the Queen. From there he can commit to an ICBM orbital strike on the frontline of the opponent's pieces in order to force the defending pawns to commit die without risking the King's AA abilities. Then you just press your Queen on the offensive again and use the gun you've obtained from the orbital strike to finish the job. This would have sealed the opponent's fate far sooner than if he let the knight capture.

As an Ohioan, there are a few things I have to say about this. First of all, the R2D2 piece could have directly taken the 1 house flipped rook, and you didn't have to go through the queen to do that. Second of all, with 1500M, you can do a lot more than just 1 house on a flipped rook, and black should have used it more. Lastly, white used the edge wrong. According to the rules, when somebody uses the edge, you have to overlap a Sorry board, draw a classic playing card each turn, and move accordingly. You can also use the slide spaces. The white pawn did not do this, and just zipped across instead. Good game though.
@popers1328
@popers1328 Жыл бұрын
The game was clearly played in the Rush format. It should be obvious because the dollars used were in multiples of 500 instead of 200 used in Standard. I get that you probably only play Standard because you're a long time fan, I am too, but Rush has become more and more popular over the years. The skill floor for the Sorry board is just way to high for people getting into the game and Standard games can often take a long time if both players know what they're doing. Rush also has some pretty interesting tech, like the white player being able to build houses on both of his flipped rooks, which is something you would never be able to do in Standard format.
@Picksle
@Picksle Жыл бұрын
@@popers1328 Doesn't the rush format also have an exploit where flipped rooks with 1 house can inflict poison damage on all pieces? Seems like they should have taken advantage of that.
@popers1328
@popers1328 Жыл бұрын
@@Picksle True, I think they wanted to take out black's R2D2 first as it is immune to poison and he would be left vulnerable to it because the poison affects their own pieces as well. If white was able to do that they would have won for sure. I think the black player saw that which is why he went for the white king when he did even though it was a bit aggressive and was able to clutch out the game with his gun. Truly impressive game knowledge and foresight from black. The mark of a future pro.

Honestly respect to the opponent. I haven't seen an early rook invert in a while, and he played the rest of the game beautifully, with the exception of the blunder of adding a house when our player had R2D2 e8. I think they just got really unlucky on the dragon-millennium falcon trade, and the endgame was played brilliantly by the man taking the video.

0:44 pulling out that dragon was such a good move, what newbies don't know about the game is that when you do that, not only do you gain most of the poker chip loot but you also gain a stamina and temporary arboreal/flight moves on the Board. That's how you were able to capture the queen so quickly with R2DT since you summoned him via 3rd party, a astounding tactic that only experienced players use, you are a pro dude, your opponent probably didn't see that coming because they were too busy trying to do the Ol' "Deal poker cards" Move because that gives them more monopoly money due to how the games financial system works, he should've just stuck to the passive income you get from placing your Rook Pieces upside down outside the board boundaries. Im so glad they brought that rule back to the game, it was outlawed up until recently, too bad your opponent didn't utilize it all the way. The new patch notes are great, but if u didn't notice; ur opponent tried to tax your your flipped Rook by putting a house on it, a sneaky truck pro's use to Gain finances and ammunition off of your own pieces. Another sneaky thing he did was sell you his R2DT wayyyy to early in the match, he did that so he could get the "Initiate poker game" aura/ability that comes with selling such powerful pieces, he tried to win the poker game cuz If you do all your Knights turn into queens as the prize. But he had to retreat when you whipped out that Dragon, a funny mistake most players like him make Istg. But anyways, This is one of the best games I've seen of Ohio chess inna minute ngl, y'all used techniques most would call Cliche but y'all pulled them off swell. most of the time I just see people abuse the 'Pineapple under the sea' move when you flip you king sideways and purchase a chunk of the territory off your enemies side while pouring Chlorine and Basalt on your one of your Bishop's to get that movement and nerd gun buff, gets boring to see people always abuse that glad to see y'all didn't. Your guy's game was refreshing on the other hand, good use of the revolver at the end to shoot down ur opponent and win the match.

Italian game: flipped rook variation, such a classic opening, I’ve seen people up to the ohiograndmaster (OGM) level play this opening, very good because you get your rooks developed on the æ0 square, making them control the whole file, indeed very good game played by these two players, also by allowing the money trade for R2D2 it allows a stunning move later in the game, hotel on queen, but that would be a great blunder as R2D2 can take it, however it is true that the white king instead of not moving it should have been moved to the room on the open file as now it is untouchable unless is other flipped rooks enter the range of the king and rook, as you can see white did not develop its bishop so now the king cannot escape the amazing move, after winning the dragon so early on, water gun to e1

Wow, that’s the new ohio opening what a brilliant opening. And i see you turned that opening into the American gambit by pulling out a gun, truly a brilliant move only grandmasters could even fathom something like that. 👏

The play where white tipped the rook, was truly incredible, the dice roll was amazing, as well as the off the board flick was great! They brought in R2-D2 too early I believe though, the card game was definitely too late I’m usually go for it in 1st or 2nd turn.

It's almost all theory in the opening phase: after R2D2 e6 the game was very risky, but black had an advantage in range. And the game was won when white build so few houses over the queen and the rook, black could already pay for the those captures, then shoot at the king are just question of time. It's unbelievable, this ohio-grandmaster is a engine.
