Fascinating as always KC ........

Very nice video, KC. Bd7 is the best move of the game imo, "preparing punches" for the middlegame. Without Bd7, there would have been no zigzag maneuvre on the Qside! The bishop would be hitting thin air, and white would have had a much easier game!

Janowsky played this game as an amater...closing a center with e4-e5 and let a Black to run an attack on the queen side is a bad decision/ At least he had to play ed5 with f3-f4 delivering his knight at e5. Anyway he helped Capablanca to win this game a lot.

It would be interesting to study this game in relation to the final chapter in Nimzowitsch' My System.

hey im just wondering if jan never played a3 so when he plays b3, the a3 pawn wont be a weakness, how could the c4 square be weak if it is covered by the b3 pawn? (apologize if this sounds confusins)

I like watching the side variation... ):

Yes, this his rook maneuver is impressive. I (and I bet most players) would probably never have gone for the g-file but just played b4 and attacking that b2-pawn. But it must be said that white played way too passively in this game with Be2 and then Bc3. Was Janowsky afraid of Capablanca? :S

I've always had trouble using my rooks, which might seem weird since they're such linear pieces. I'm just never able to do anything useful with them. =/

@max31416 Why would they watch the video if they aren't interested in chess? There is no reason to dislike it if they have no idea what is going on. These are great videos.

My old computer tought 5: 22 minutes Capablanca-Reti game move! Same computer tought 4:37 minutes Kasparov-Kramnik game move! Capablanca better than Kasparov! Bobby Fischer against Boris Spassky 17 wins 11 losses! Capablanca would Beat The Prime Boris Spassky easily 8 wins 5 draws no loss! Boris Spassky The weakest chess world champion Ever!!

black should have considered to take the knight with the bishop when the knight was on a5...
