Why do we play the d4 break immediately in ruy lopez when the black plays d6 in third move please reply 🙏

You don't need me for these types of questions; you can google them and get youtube videos & there's a ton of inexpensive books like Starting Out: Ruy Lopez. You want to pressure e5 so that Black either has to defend or give White more space after 3...exd4 and a recapture. Also 4.d4 "activates" the knight on f3. A passive move like 4.d3 doesn't fight for space.

@@danheismanchess Sir,I know that I don't need to ask this type of silly questions but I googled I did not find a clear answer for this and I am not in a financial situation to hire a personal coach or to join a club. Chess is a hobby for me and I wanna improve at it. Please don't get mad at me .thank you for your kind reply. have a nice day sir. Love ur instructive and fun videos

Your question is not silly; I never said or implied that. A lot of clubs are almost free so I would think there might be one you could join. But yes, this kind of information can be googled too, but it takes some patience and digging.

The place I am in has no clubs. Even it does it is subscription based and as I informed earlier I am not financially strong enough to ought it. I apologise if my questions are bothersome

I used to play C4 in exchange french just like in panov attack but the engine didn't like it. The move it had for black was Bb4+ and I never understood why is it bad for white ...

Yes, as I mention in the video 4.c4 is a line in the Exchange French but it's not one of the main lines. And yes, engine's like 4...Bb4+ after 4.c4 but it's not "bad" for White, unless you think giving Black equality is sufficiently bad :)

@@danheismanchess Agree, it is not sufficiently bad at my level(1600 online rated) :) . So, should I play it anyway as an IQP position to avoid all theory of other French variations
