13:20 1. Qg4 Qxe5 2.Rxe5 Rc1+ 3.Kh2 Rxe5 4.Rf6 some commentator considered during the game works as well . SF gives +9 for a line, it is enough to win without problems. Queen+ 2 pawns vs rook + knight means black cannot survive this position .

Man. I thought for sure Hikaru would beat Vidit in game 2. Looks like Vidit is not only hikaru’s father, but mine now too. 😂 In all seriousness though, the Indians are no joke. I think they might have been underrated a bit. Even Vishy didn’t think they’d do this well. Good job, congrats to the Indians 🇮🇳 👍🏻

I think the only lesson indian players would have learnt till now in which the experienced players do well is to be solid at times, not lose even if the position is dry, gukesh and vidit are having extreme results but those 0.5 points also matter in these types of long tournaments, all the best to our indian candidates ✨️

The fight on the control of d5 square at the center was the deciding point here in the middle game. After Nakamura instead of Bxd5 w/c is the best move, he chooses Nxd5 and after a series of exchanges Vidit gain control of taking the pawn on d5 with the move Nxd5 and manages to control the center and a pawn up in the exchanges and the Kingside of black is in peril.
