Even a genius like Keres can blunder mate in 1. Hey! I play like Keres!

I wish these games commentaries also showed how much time each side had left to play, no way a GM would blunder mate in 1 without some serious psychological and time pressure

Excellent explanation. Kept it short and sweet. Thank you.

you were correct, what a beautiful queen move to end the game !

Love the videos, I would consider less space above your head (head space) in terms of camera framing. Like, tilt the camera slightlyyyy down. I know it's pedantic, but hey.

Not sure of time controls back then but that looked like a hurried move that led to the mate.

Thank you for this amazing game! Fischer is my number one favorite (I'll let more animated viewers get into that silly GOAT bottomless pit) and I enjoy so many other players. I'm a happy guy with your channel and so many other YT Chess Channels. A happy subscriber.

Would love to see the possible/likely continuation if Keres didn’t blunder with rc4

Just put it into a chess analysis engine. Prior to Rc4, Keres is down -40.

*Fischer* was 16 1/2 when this tournament was held. The next youngest player, the winner, was *Mikhail Tal* at 22 and 10 months. Fischer was rated 2700, number 14 in the world, at that time. Fischer came in 5th out of 8. He won 8, lost 11 and drew 9.

I think it must have been a lot of pressure applied that tipped keres into that oversight! Good vid. Thx.
