Unreal performance by the young man! And he's so unassuming to boot! As usual; well done and thanks for posting this!

Jerry, you are the only educational chess channel on youtube that actually is good at teaching players in all skill ranges. You have videos for beginners, amateurs, national masters(like yourself), and even grand masters. You run this channel so well, i enjoy every single video you put out, and what i enjoy even more about your channel is when i comment on a video, there is a very good chance that you will respond. Hopefully u see this comment :P or what i just said is null and void hahahaha

Excellent! You really explained a lot. Particularly about Topalov's mistakes. I see now that, while Caruana is great, he may be getting lucky, (As he has said himself). It seems if Topalov stopped making some mistakes , he would be the one near the top. We saw the Carlsen game with him drawn, when he almost won. And after the game Carlsen told him the move he missed.

Beautiful attacking game. I keep wondering why White didn’t play 7. PK5. Yes it costs a tempo, but the Pawn is nicely placed to e.p. Black’s QP and break up any potential “spearhead” such as he achieved in the game?

Right on point Sir. Rg8 ?? 21 Rd8 was premature. Queen on c7 is no longer doing anything. 21 Qc6 and the game continues advantage white. Great commentary Jerry. Thanks for sharing.

Rapidly posted and instructive commentary, thank you. Engrossing, enjoyable and talent-filled as this little tournament is, the repeated 'strongest in history' label is a technical thing (FIDE rating) and not wholey accurate. For example the Hastings tournament of 1895 (before plane travel, internet, sponsorship, etc). You Google it, and those label users can have an appropiate reality check. A delight to be able to follow today's best, however!

Is it me or do you sound like you are really bored while commenting the game? You may really like the game, but it doesn't seem that you are externalizing it in that case. Anyways, thanks for the video.

Jerry is super chill in these analyses. His kibitzing videos tend to be more animated, and his own tournament videos are bonkers. I feel this gives his various audiences what they want - professional-style reviews and ones more for pure entertainment.

What should he do..? Scream, laugh, clap...? He does it just right. Go watch Kingscrusher's videos where he coughs, sneezes and has a lollipop in his mouth.. Jerry has by far the best channel on KZbin!!!

Fischer did 6-0 against Taimanov and Larsen. In 1994, Karpov won Linares with an incredible 11/13 against all of the top players in the world at the time. It is still early to say, but this performance by Caruana looks to be in that category. On the other hand, Taimanov and Larsen were *not* the *very* top players in the world at the time (Fischer still had Petrosian and Spassky to deal with, and he never had to face his arch nemesis, Tal). Karpov had some free points coming from Polgar and Lautier at Linares. Caruana has only MVL, Toppy and Naka as the "weaklings" in this tournament. I guess in reality, this is, so far, the strongest performance of any chess play in a tournament.
