How can you classify yourself as a “singer” if you don’t actually understand the basics of singing? Head and chest voice are literally the first things you learn and are simple concepts to understand. Are you sure you’re actually a singer and not a novice/intermediate person with some knowledge of singing but little knowledge of technique and methodology? It’s like saying “I’m a dancer but don’t understand rhythm”

I’ve heard that for singers, it’s best to speak in the register you sing in. So if you’re a soprano, speak in head voice, a bass speak in a low chest voice, that way when it comes time to sing your voice is warmed more to that space and it doesn’t have to strain so much

No, you're talking about falsetto not head voice. Head voice is in the vocal range whilst falsetto isn't.
