It’s just sad that he can’t support them, Chester would have wanted them to keep the Linkin Park name going for him! I admit the new music is different, but it’s still good music, I have followed them from day one, been to see them Live and Loved Chester and his voice! Jaime estranged himself from Chester months before he passed away. He said they last talked in February that year and then Chester ended his life on July. Sounds like he never got closure. But he also sounds like an insufferable human being.

These are his opinions. Mine is, the album is good. I don't look at it as LPark without Chester, but rather LPark with Emily. Like when Stone Temple Pilots released music with Chester. But grieve man. Chester will be missed. But onward the music must go.

I love the album it rare to have no bad tunes. All above 8/10 and some 12/10. Chester can't be replace as a person or his voice and no guy could have come in. Emily is one in a billion and the only reason their back and at the level they left in, it different but familiar. I hope his son gets right with their return but this would have reopened the pain so people need to give him time and he will see this is a good thing for the group and his dad's legacy. Linkin park would have been forgotten now new younger fans will help keep it alive for many more years.

There's no way he can judge this without being biased. He may be trying not to, but it's gonna be there. Of course Emily isn't going to be able to hit certain notes, every single time live, also she's not supposed to sound like him vocally. Her screams are a distortion vocal technique that she has always used when she wants a "wilder" more raw sound. Mike's not gonna stand up to him. Joe isn't gonna stand up to him none of the band are going to look "stand up" to him. He has a dislike for Mike, which now extends through the entire band. Even Emily, especially, and Collin who were brought into the band. Im guessing here that anything he's heard of Mike he's gotten listening over people's shoulders, considering he's not very old, and wasn't this age when the band was together when his dad was alive. This is a great album all the way through. He can't sit here and say these things and say them as truths. This isn't Chester Linkin Park. This is new Linkin Park. A new era. A fresh start. A totally different yet capable and talented vocal style. He can't try to disect these lyrics because these are not his father's lyrics. He has no idea what lyrics came from Mike, Emily or anyone else in the band who wrote a chorus or a line or two. Jamie needs to realize that the Linkin Park with Chester is over. Chester was the one who ended the band, not Mike. The band quit, for almost 8 years, and after all of this time got the itch to do what they love again with the band they all formed, with a new sound. This guy needs to stop hanging on, stop being bitter, and stop telling himself that what LP are doing right now in 2024 has anything at all to do with him. Let the fans who love what they're doing move along with the band and grow with the band and enjoy the now, and whats to come. Let your father rest. Fans who are critical to the point where they despise what the band is doing because he's not here to move on with them should let Chester rest. This has all been so uncalled for since the very beginning. I don't think I've ever witnessed such a war between a band, their fans, fans against fans, fans harassing, hating and bullying a new band member who was given a great opportunity and took it, family against the band and fans. It's all a damn circus. If anything Chester is rolling in his grave right now because of all of this chaos. It really needs to be left alone. Love them? Cool, continue the journey. Hate them? Cool, there's a whole discography to listen to, and nobody is twisting your arm to watch or listen to anything new. Let it rest!

Well said. Couldn't have said better myself. We all loved Chester and his passing has left a big scar on all of us. I never grieved over celebrity as much as over Chester. He was so special and stolen our hearts. His era of Linkin Park is of a generation. Some of us grew up on them and are parents ourselves now. Ist a big part of life. We can't let go of it. But last thing is to spread hate and toxicity over band that won our hearts by being victims of such things. People need to take a mirror and look at themselves and see what they are becoming. It was also obvious this would happen however that's last thing Chester would want. People are entitled to their opinions however go by live and let live. I prefer Chester's Linkin Park but won't go and spread the hate. People reach down your soul and think 2x before becoming toxic.

OML was not their weakest album IMO. It was just their softest and most pop based. The whole album is literally pop except one song. I like OML a lot but can understand why some don't if their tastes are more firmly planted in hard rock/metal. Bro, I couldn't even listen to the new album.

I thought this album was more of a mix of Hybrid Theory, Meteora and Minutes to Midnight with a mix of its own sound, are you sure you listened to the album? Do you even know anything at all about music? I get that Chester was your dad and all and Yes it sucks that he is gone, the man was an amazing vocalist but it's time to move forward or at least let Linkin Park move forward, maybe worry about your own life, what you want to do in life and moving forward, sorry for your loss deeply I am, but sitting around and trying to bring drama and stuff to Linkin Park is just a waste of time and you could be using that time to do something with your own life.

Mike's talking about his depression and how he used it as an excuse to push away his friends and family. He is also describing how he was the face of Linkin Park for over 7 yrs and all the expectations people had of him, and as a result he had to lie to them and "Make It Up as He Went" and pretend he was alright when he was still getting his life together after Chester's death.

Awesome song, and this son of Chester, Jaime, directed the music video and is featured in it to tribute Chester. And Chester's original, remastered vocals, from when he was only 21, are fantastic!
