He died a few years ago. Funnily enough regarding your comment, he was actually " removed" with the clubs official recorder ( Roadrunner video) when BWFC were promoted to prem in 1995. Shame.

Some real old stagers in this game - Phil Neal and Asa Hartford for Bolton, and Ernie Moss and Jim Brown for Chesterfield, both of whom I remember from their early 1970s days. What a poor decision from the ref with that third goal: how on earth could he be sure from where he was standing that the whole of the ball was over the whole of the line? His feet may have been behind the goal-line, but he was holding his hands well in front of them. 'Ridicluss', as the commentator might have said.

I was there that day, the fighting was surreal. Mad pockets if utter mayhem surrounded by people watching yhe game like nothing was going on. Saw a Wanderers fan dropped bu surely the greatest ever apple throw. Right in the kite. Ahh happy days.
