Compare the architecture of the Stephenson Memorial Hall here and the surviving building of the former Jessop Hospital in Sheffield and note the similarity. Both were produced in my view during a golden age of Victorian architecture, particulary producing Gothic revival. As you say, the architecture is eloborate with good examples of ornamental bulls eye and gothic arches with the building being constructed in what appears to be the Flemish bond brickwork pattern. I don't believe cleaning up the algae on the brickwork will be too much of an issue and the building appears to have retained throughout its exterior, its original aesthetic qualities. Thank you.

Hopefully the renovated video will be better. Been to Manchester today, it blew my mind. They had 1000's of building better than this.
