As someone who works for total wine since Feb 2022, the chestnut farm single barrel, as I know, is an end of the year release. Whatever we get October-Dec is what we got. Regular straight chestnut & bottle in bond are yearly round. So if you cab find 1792 and it's variants buy those instead. At total wine the reason chest nut is pushed down your throat instead of 1792 is because we make more money on the yellow tag bottle vs national brand we make cents or break.

I'm not going to buy this ever again I'll stick to 1792 Full Proof, I'd imagine that's why they don't sell FP at Total Wine? So they could sell these at a higher price. Tried that Chestnut Farms BiB at the Total Wines Tasting bar. It was tasty but not 100 dollars tasty. Picked up a 1792 BiB Total Wines store pick for 39.99. Crazy mark up. Horseys sell bottles?

Buffalo Trace is a parent company so they might be betting on those Horses 🐎 to make them cash. But people should know that the alternative, which not only is the "Actual Product" in the Bottle, it also tastes better and is less expensive. So total wine had two bottles. One in the floor and the box looked just like yours. The second was behind glass and had 8 year stickers on it. I grabbed the stated 8year.

I believe they're all 8yr. Total puts those little round clear stickers on them in the store. I took mine off and forgot to mention that in my video. The 1792 Full Proof is 7 to 8yr old Whiskey as well, it's just not age stated on the bottle. I thought it was pretty good I just feel the 1792 is the better value and slightly better flavor. Don’t want to come off as snarky, it just seems you had the idea before tasting them side by side that the chestnut wasn’t going to be worth it and then when you did try them you had some very different flavor notes to describe them. Just wondering if there was more of a placebo with the 1792 being similar. Great video.

Not Snarky at all Brotha! I did and will stand by the notion that a Company/Distillery selling the same product but with different packaging may get some scrutiny or backlash for selling the same juice under their umbrella of their products/labels. Now if a different "Distillery" Sourced their Whiskey and bottled it with their own story and background, I get that. But Chestnut Farms is under the same Umbrella owned by Saz, so my Opinion is buy the cheaper "Proven" product because it's most likely the same product. I honestly thought they're both good in similar ways overall (unsurprisingly) but 1972 Full Proof had more on flavor (subjective). But I can also attribute that to a Fresh Crack to the 1792 had already opened up? Both still good. Maybe that's why I felt I got more of an Aroma on the Chestnut Farms? I'm not bashing Chestnut Farms...because that's just name...the Brand is still Saz/Barton/1792. For the price? I'd go with 1792. I hear Trader Joe's has a 1792 Full Proof (125) product for 30 bucks 😳 I'd probably prefer that 😂 But it's all good, I don't don't have shares in any of these products 😂🥃 I just said and feel the better Value between them two was the 1792. Total Wine should be ashamed of themselves for pushing their overpriced bourbon. If you walk in looking for any of the better known brands, and don't know any better, total wine employees will push their "spirits direct" crap on you and they get unsuspecting folks all the time with their arm twisting. Their "winery direct" options are fine and sometimes great, but when it comes to spirits direct, at least when it comes to their spirits direct whiskey selection, stay faaaaarrrrrrrrrrr away!!!! You have been warned!

Definitely agree 😂 This was just a PSA on my Dime to just spread the word. I know I could easily just made a video and named the different "Distillery's" but I felt that if I don't have it "How can I give an Informed opinion". So no it's not special, it's 1792 Full Proof....Buy that and it is just as good or better. The Aroma surprised me but the Palate was the same and when shared, 1792 Full Proof was picked over the Chestnut Farms SB. Appreciate the comment 🙏🏽 Cheers Nephew 💪🏽🥃
