For the past few months, I've been sitting on the porch of our house playing your piano accompaniment. I'm playing Chat's trumpet solo for more than the thousandth time. I'm slowly starting to understand the mental state in which he played it. But never to anyone to experience it. There is so much pain, disappointment and human loneliness. Inside that harmony I feel a springboard to another world... Who among us has any idea what it's like there? Let's dive into that song, there's almost a hint 😢

The live Tokyo version is the most beautiful recording I have ever heard. Truly amazing. Please please please make a tutorial video on this piece as I can not read sheet music but I learn pretty easily when watching videos. I’m learning this from watching you play but it’d make it a lot easier for me and many others if there was a structured lesson. Other renditions don’t come close to the perfection shown here. Thank you

I want to be able to play like this so badly. I began teaching myself jazz piano through KZbin about four years ago.. My technique and harmonic knowledge has hit a plateau. I'm constantly oscillating between being proud of my solos at jams and absolutely horrified, which is what I like about the perpetual learning curve of jazz. But lately I have plateaued. I've gained all this theoretical knowledge from the internet but can't seem to implement half of it when I play live. Your playing here is the exact sort of piano I'd like to learn. Nothing flashy and intense; just refined and harmonically expressive solo piano. I could make some decent side money doing solo jazz piano stuff in my city, but I know I'm not there quite yet. I just came across this video and have been sitting at my keyboard stealing stuff from it for the past two hours. It had been months since I sat down and learned some new stuff. Thank you so much for inspiring me!
