I first recorded this song with Chet in Rome, back in 1983, part of a project that I was invited to arrange/produce for Jim Porto ( Brazilian singer). A few years earlier , I had the chance to play with Chet in Paris and some concerts around Italy.... Chet loved that song and played it regularly with his different groups . He went on to record it in "Live in Tokyo" and other live recordings .. This version in Trio has Chet on a very inspired night. I added the music score (part) so anyone can play along .. Enjoy it and please leave your comments ! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Eu gravei essa música pela primeira vez com Chet em Roma, em 1983, como parte de um projeto que fui convidado a fazer arranjos/produção para Jim Porto (cantor brasileiro). Alguns anos antes, tive a chance de tocar com ele em Paris e vários shows pela Itália... Chet adorava essa música e a tocava regularmente com seus diferentes grupos. Ele a gravou em "Live in Tokyo" e outras gravações ao vivo .. Esta versão em Trio tem Chet em uma noite muito inspirada. Adicionei a partitura para que qualquer um possa tocar junto.. Really great track, I love how the piano sort of “shadow follows” the trumpet wherever it goes. This is the way improvisational music is supposed to be done ;-)
