This guy has mastered all basic skills needed for basketball. He can dribble, rebound, block shots, shoot, handle the ball. He is an athlete with very quick reflexes. His hands are particuilarly quick. He is stronger than he looks, but needs to work in the weight room to handle the pysicality of the NBA. It is hard to guess what his ceiling is, but he might develop into a monster. Barring devastating injuries, his floor is being an effective multi-year starter, who contrbutes on both ends of the court.

I didn't think Chet would be good because of his weight until I started watching more videos of him. Weight won't be an issue because he will gain muscle with NBA trainers. The thing I look for is heart and the mindset of a player and at 4:48 you can see what he wants to do in the paint but just isn't strong enough right now.
@wierd227
@wierd227 2 жыл бұрын
Without trying to be super mean ir critical, I see a solid role player, I don't see a superstar personally. Definitelydont think him being skinny is a huge problem like many say, but theres only so much strength and size you can pack on. For a young player he's not really explosive, athletic, or quick. I think he can develop a good jumper but at least in this vid I don't see a primary ball handler (like the kd comparison). I see a versatile pick and role player but not a dominant one. Looking at these clips, there's not much defense or offense against him it seems. Feel like by players his size in the NBA he's gonna have a ton of work to do and I don't think he'll be able to dominate like a superstar. People can feel free to disagree, I mean no disrespect I only looked up Chet bc I saw him say he'll be the best in the league and after all that I've seen, I feel like he can be good but not so sure about great. Hopefully he can prove the naysayers wrong tho
@vnrjn8
@vnrjn8 2 жыл бұрын
This is kind of my view as well. You stated it succinctly. There is length and a motor but not a lot of power or explosion, and the I think the size of opponents at the next level will wear him down.

@jasonkassa2204
@jasonkassa2204 2 жыл бұрын
A guy like this, you have to have him shoot a bunch of 3s on offense, or else it's a waste. Even if he's a third option to your offense, you have to commit to that. If you discourage the 3s, and try to mold him to a NBA power forward who just plays D and normal PF/C offense, he's going to be a scrub. You're better off drafting a physical guy, or a future bench contributor if you don't force him to shoot a volume. If you encourage/demand he shoot 3s, then he has a chance to give you 4th guy on offense who can spread the floor. He seems to be able to play within a team framework and understands screens and movement. OKC won 24 games last year.

His highlights are nice but they tryna hide his weakness rn. And he’s not as good of a ball handler as what’s made. Yes he’s good for his size. But let him make the mistake and think he can dribble up and dwn da court in da nba not gonna work. Boston showed you, you can be a 7 ft monster and be stopped by a team. @@drewmckinney8570 it's not the basketball that people are worried about, but the physical punishment that he will take from veteran players in the league. The dude will get pounded, and he won't be doing what he did last night against an unsure player like the rookie Jazz center Cockburn. Cockburn doesn't know how to use his size right now which is disappointing because you would expect someone that is almost 7 foot and almost 300 pounds to know how to use his body to beat up a skinny kid like Holmgren. But KD doesn't weigh what he did when he first came into the league because he took a pounding, he's been playing at almost 240 now for a long time now. AD first weighed abut 210 when he came into the league, but has been a strong 255 now for the last 5 seasons. Holmgren will have to do the same (at least play at 240) or he won't last long with injuries happening all of the time to him.

That is legit the only, and I mean legit only “issue” any scout has for this kid…. Time and time again, when a players only issue is that they are “too skinny for their frame” that player legit ends up being the best player in that draft class…. KD AD (granted he did go #1, but that was because everyone else was so much worse then him, and they still almost let that scare NO into not picking him first) Curry And a lot more…. Any scout that convinces their team to skip on a player, when their legit only argument against that player is “they’re to small for their frame” has ended up looking like a fool, that player always is the best in the draft, and they should get instantly fired if they even mention that anymore…..

I'm not psychic so I can't guarantee how good Chet will be but I see a guy who if he bulks up (he doesn't need to be David Robinson Alonzo Mourning Shaquille O'Neal or Dikembe Mutombo like size but more like Garnett and Duncan in the late 90s early 200s) has the potential to be the most skilled, versatile center in NBA history. He has shot blocking and rebounding instincts like Tim Duncan, a shot almost like Dirk Nowitzki, passing almost like Sabonis, ball handling a little better than Duncan or Garnett, a good set of moves around the basket on a 1 on 1, can take it to the rim off the perimeter, can shoot it off the dribble, has good pick and roll and pick and pop skills and can run the floor well and score as a trailer or getting to the spot on the run on the break. IF he doesn't self destruct and stays healthy, develops his body and keeps improving his skills, and stays grounded, he could be a SUPERSTAR.
